The University Grants Commission(UGC)released the new
academic calender and guilines for the 2020-21
- The new session for old students of the universities and colleges will commence from 01 August,2020.
- The session for the new students will begin from 01 september,2020.
- According to the new calender released by UGC, the admissions for the 2020-21 session will beconducted between 01-31 August,2020
- The pending terminal and intermediate examination will be conducted between July-August,2020.
The guidline and academic calenderhave been
prepared on the basis of the recommendations of an Expert Committee, Which was
formed by UGC to look into the issues faced by theuniversities and colleges due
to the loss caused by COVID19 pandemic.
As per guidelines, the universities may
conduct terminal/intermediate semester /year examinations in office or online
mode, as per their ordinance/ rules and regulation, the scheme of examinations,
observing the guideline of “social distancing” and keeping in view the support system
available with themand ensuring a fair opportunity tu all students.
In the situation does not comes to normal
due to COVID -19, in order to maintain”social distancing”,safety and health of
the students,grading of the students could be composite of 50% marks onn the
basis of the internal evaluation .
The UGC suggested two academic calenders, one
for 2019-2020 (the portion which remained incomplete due to the COVID19
outbreak and the lockdown) and another for 2020-21
